Wow~This first year of waiting has just gone by in a blur. We finally finished all of our paperwork for our update~new TB skin tests, drug screens, background checks, more background checks, copies of everything personal...sometimes it just seems so unfair. If we were able to get pregnant, we'd probably have 2 children by now and no one would have cared about any of these things. Oh well, that is not Our Journey.
Now we are preparing for our yearly Home Visit. Our new Case Worker will arrive at 1 pm tomorrow~this cleaning may be an all nighter. I'm not as anxious as I was last year, since we kind of know what to expect. But, it is never easy having a virtual stranger come into your home to judge whether we will be good parents. By tomorrow we'll be able to serve a meal off of the floors; now, is that very realistic? I think the Home Visit that comes about 2 weeks after we have received our Joyous Gift will be the most telling of all...formula on the floor, walls, maybe furniture; hopefully a bath within the past 24 hours (for the baby, 48 for us); opening the door in pajamsa at three in the afternoon; and holding a precious little baby in our arms...yes, that will be The Best Home Visit Of All!

Almost A Year ...
It's hard to believe that we are almost to the milestone of having one year of our wait time behind us. We have been so busy in 2011~my husband and I are working so hard at our jobs, which is helping us add to our adoption fund. This is a good thing, but we are exhausted! We have also been keeping busy working on projects around the house. Staying busy helps pass the time quickly during this wait, but we still feel those urgings daily that our home is so ready for our child to be here with us. I do love our time together, which only brings us closer as a couple, and I know that God will bless our family when the time is right. We just have to keep praying and know that our Precious Gift is closer to being home every day!
